Obituary

Jannie Berg, age 77, of Steinbach, Manitoba, passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Bethesda Place Personal Care Home, Steinbach, Manitoba.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Arne (Jack) and four children, Robert, Randy, Anita, and Danny (Jenn) and grandchild Makayla, her three brothers and four sisters, Aart (Kathy), Gypsje (Dirk), Dikkie, Tina (Wally), Gerrie (Doug), John (Rose), and Walter (Donna) and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents Dirk (Papa) and Dirkje (Moesje), brother Dirk, sisters Jopie, Bertha and Ellie, and brothers-in-law Eek, John and Harvey.

Jannie was born in Driebergen, Utrecht, The Netherlands on May 23, 1940. She immigrated with her parents and eight siblings to Manitoba in 1952. Two sisters remained in The Netherlands, and her eleventh sibling was born in Manitoba. She married Arne from Menisino, MB, in 1960 in Whitemouth, MB.

Jannie loved life and found enjoyment in everything from classical music to old time country, bowling, singing, dancing and reading autobiographies. She was interested in the lives of others and formed friendships with all of her children’s friends.

Jannie appreciated the help from Bethesda staff and her family, always saying thank you for what they did for her.

The memorial service for Jannie will be held on Monday, November 13, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 162 Highway 52 West, Steinbach, MB. The ash interment will follow at Whitemouth Cemetery, Whitemouth, MB.
