Obituary

Anna Toews, aged 78 years, of Steinbach, MB., passed away on Friday, November 13, 2020, at Bethesda Regional Health Centre, Steinbach, MB.

Mom was born on January 21, 1942, to Johann and Agatha Sawatzky and grew up in Grunthal, Col. Menno Paraguay. Her Parents named her Anna and she was the sixth child born to them. Anna and her younger sister Maria had a lot of fun growing up especially in their youth. On Jun 11,1962 she was baptized upon her confession of faith and then married her sweetheart Abram Toews on Aug 8,1962. They were married 56 years and had 7 children.

While our parents were both still alive, they would often make music together with friends and enjoyed serving in that capacity. Mom also enjoyed reading and Word search puzzles. Her phone calls were always shorty and sweet.

Mom was 78 years, 9 months and 23 days old when she died.

She is survived by seven children Fred (Alwine), Erna (Willie), Martha (Erdmann), Eva (Ben), Netty (Will), Lina (Darcy), Herb (Lisa), 20 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parent, her husband Abram (2018) and two brothers.

We would like to extend our greatest appreciation and thanks to the dedicated nurses and staff at Bethesda hospital, Covid unit, for their care shown to mom and us as family. Rest in Peace Mom.
