Gilbert Unger

Obituary

Gilbert Unger, beloved husband of Emily Unger (nee Loewen), and father to Bertram Unger and Michele Casey (nee Unger), passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home in Blumenort, on Sunday, November 15, 2020, after a brief illness.

Gilbert was born on October 14, 1940, in Blumenhof to Peter P. and Catherine Unger (nee Bartel).

He was the fourth of ten siblings.

He is survived by his wife Emily, son Bertram Unger (daughter-in-law Audrey Unger, and grandchildren Sebastian and Sullivan Unger), as well as his daughter Michele Casey (son-in-law Bob Casey, and grandchildren Jesse and Ailis Casey). He is also survived by his five remaining siblings.

Gilbert was predeceased by his father, mother, sisters Freda and Leona, and brothers Lloyd and Rudy.
