Obituary

Marie Therese Wiens (nee Pelland), age 75, of Giroux, MB, passed away peacefully, and free of pain, in her sleep, to be with her Lord and Saviour after a very brief illness, on the morning of Monday, December 18, 2017 at the Bethesda Regional Health Centre, Steinbach, MB.

Marie is survived by: her husband Earl; son Paul (Veronica); daughter Debra (Murray); siblings: Roger (Terri); Diane (Ray); Louise (Noel); Jeannette (Dennis); Suzanne (Rishi); Doreen (Philippe); grandchildren: Myles (Brianne); Chantelle (Favio); Renee (Scott); Justin; Ryan; Conrad (Megan); Brandon (Jen) and great-grandchildren: Malachi; Kellan; Phaetyn and Ivory.

She was predeceased by her parents Yvonne & Joseph Pelland, brother Louis Pelland and great-niece Faith Shaw.

Marie had many cherished friendships and long-time pen-pals. She loved many things including collecting trinkets, reading, shopping, and her time spent with family. Marie loved to take pictures of everything and everyone and she loved life and lived it to the fullest. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and acquaintances.

Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will follow at a later date.

The Celebration of Life for Marie will be held on Friday, December 22, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the New Bothwell Christian Fellowship Church, 20 Sara Ave., New Bothwell, MB, with fellowship and a light lunch to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Marie may be made to Anna’s House, 175 Main St, Steinbach MB R5G 1Y5 or to the charity of your choice.

The family would like to thank the staff at the MICU unit at Health Sciences Centre, as well as the staff at the Bethesda Regional Health Centre, who cared for her. You have no idea how much your kind words and reassurances mean to a family in a time like this.
