Obituary

On Wednesday, January 03, 2018, our mother, Louise Falk passed away at the Steinbach Bethesda Personal Care Home at the age of 89.

Mom was born on July 17, 1928, to John and Nathalie Schalla. She was one of eleven children growing up in the Bristol area on a farm. She married our dad, Jacob W Falk on October 14, 1950. They lived in Steinbach where they raised their three children Larry, Cliff, and Dianne.

Besides being a wonderful homemaker, our mother was a talented and crafty person. For years she painted and wallpapered the homes of many families around Steinbach with a group of ladies. You could often catch her making blankets together with her sisters in the garage. Perhaps her greatest joy came from working with her flowers in the garden or making silk arrangements for others. Mom loved the camaraderie and laughter she found among friends and family.

She is survived by her son Cliff (Eleanor), daughter Dianne (Don), daughter-in-law Jane; five grandchildren Kristen (John), Curtis, Tiffany (Mike), Matthew (Sarah), Allana(Mario); and seven great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband Jacob on July 6, 2017, her son Larry on August 10, 2006, step-grandson Bradley Johnstone on July 5, 1997, as well as her parents, one brother, and four sisters. Mom will also be missed by her surviving two brothers, three sisters, many nephews, nieces, and friends.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Steinbach Bethesda Personal Care Home for their wonderful care of our mom over the last 7 ‘A years.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, January 8, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Steinbach, MB. The burial will follow at the Heritage Cemetery, Steinbach, MB.
