It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Kenton Mark Schellenberg on Saturday, August 9, 2025, just 22 days short of 70 years, at Bethesda Regional Health Centre, Steinbach, MB.
Kenton was born in Steinbach, MB, on September 1, 1955. He is survived by his two brothers Ivan, Dale (Deborah), sister Colleen Koop-Sieben (Glen Sieben), nephews Corey Koop (Layne Szasz-Nicholson) and Brandon Koop (Angela Kell), Step-Nieces Monica Croog, Dominique Sawyer. Step-Nephew Michael Sawyer along with one Aunt and many cousins. He is also survived by his nephews’ father Ed Koop. Predeceased by his parents Erdman & Romelda Schellenberg along with grandparents, aunts & uncles.
We would like to thank the staff of St. Boniface Hospital and Bethesda Regional Health Centre for providing compassionate care to Kenton over the last few weeks of his life. Our family wishes to acknowledge the love and care, like one of their own, to the Gallego family where Kenton lived for the last 4 years.
The celebration of Kenton’s life will be held on Friday, September 5, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. at Steinbach Evangelical Mennonite Church, 422 Main St, Steinbach, MB. Interment to follow at the Heritage Cemetery, 365 Loewen Blvd., Steinbach, MB.
