Obituary

It is with deep love and gratitude that we announce the passing of Rubin Hartwich, who went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 23, 2025, after a courageous battle with ALS. He was 58 years old.

Rubin was a devoted Christian whose faith shaped every aspect of his life. He found strength and hope in God’s promises and was a shining example of trust, perseverance, and joy, even in the face of suffering. His unwavering belief and radiant spirit touched countless lives, and many were inspired by the peace and hope he carried during his illness.

A loving husband, father, father-in-law, and grandfather, Rubin cherished his family. He is survived by his beloved wife Anna, his four daughters and their husbands, as well as six treasured grandchildren. To his family, Rubin was a source of strength, prayer, and unconditional love, and his legacy will live on in the values he passed down and the faith he modeled.

His life was a testimony to God’s grace, and his passing leaves both a great sorrow and a deep thankfulness for the gift of his life.

A funeral service will be held to celebrate Rubin’s life and faith on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at 12:00 p.m., at Steinbach Shalom Church, 24 Industrial Rd., Steinbach, MB with viewing prior to the service. Interment to follow at Heritage Cemetery, Steinbach, MB.

Though he will be deeply missed, his family and friends rejoice in the knowledge that he is now at peace in the presence of his Savior.
