Obituary

Helen passed away on Saturday August 23, 2025, at Vita Personal Care Home at the age of 91.

Helen was born to Walter and Katherine Pachniosky on March 13, 1934, in Vita, MB. Helen worked on the family farm and going to school and graduating and then went on to teaching for one year.

She met Matt Mydaniuk, and they were married. They started farming in Lonesand, MB, until Matt passed away. Helen continued running and working hard, 24/7.

She then met Mike Meda, and they married in 1991. They were raising Charolais Cattle and making hay. Together they were involved with the Southeast Charolais Club, and the Lonesand Church and Hall with many of their friends.

Then in 2009, Mike passed away. She kept going at her farm.

In 2015, Helen had a bad fall which led her to Vita Care Home. There she made new friends and enjoyed every visitor and always thanked you for coming.

Helen is survived by one brother Lawrence (Bernice) of Steinbach, one sister Bertha Cooper of Florida, one brother-in-law John (Rose) of Grunthal, and many nieces and nephews.

Helen was predeceased by two brothers, Tony (2000) and Florian (2013).

The funeral service will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB. Interment will follow at Ridgeland Cemetery, Sundown, MB.
