It is with profound sadness and immense love that we say goodbye to our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Susanne Mary Marguerite Saini (née Lafrance), who passed away unexpectedly yet peacefully on August 30, 2025, in Steinbach, Manitoba, at the age of 67.
Susanne will forever be cherished and deeply missed by her loving children Victor Saini and Amanda Saini (James). She was a devoted and selfless mother whose love and presence shaped every part of their lives.
From her children:
“Mom, I’m shattered to have to say goodbye. Your hugs have always been my safe place where every worry disappeared, and every smile you gave felt like a warm ray of sunshine. You’ve been my first best friend and greatest supporter. Your love is the quiet strength that keeps me going, the light of my heart that burns eternal – in body, and now in spirit.”
“Mom, my heart is broken with grief. The pain is unbearable from dawn to dusk and dusk to dawn. I can hardly believe you’re gone. Thank you for the love you gave so generously, the guidance I needed but didn’t always deserve, and the strength and grace you taught me. Thank you for believing in me when I didn’t believe in myself. You left us far too soon, but your memory will live on forever. I love you so much, Mommy – forever and ever.”
Her son-in-law James shares that he will always be grateful to have had a mother-in-law as kind, loving, and generous as Susanne. He will forever cherish their conversations, the laughter they shared, and the many games of Yahtzee together.
Susanne was the proud grandmother of 8 and great-grandmother of 4. To them, she was not only “Grandma,” but a constant source of unconditional love, comfort, and joy.
“Grandma will be remembered for the love she gave so freely to her family. She will be deeply missed, not only for the role she played in our lives, but for the way she made us feel – safe, loved, and cherished beyond measure. Her laughter, her wisdom, and her presence will live on in our hearts forever. Fly high with the angels, Grandma, and save a spot for us in the Kingdom of Heaven with Grandpa and Aunt Tracy. Until we meet again, may you rest in eternal peace.”
She is survived by her siblings Marcel Lafrance (Debbie), Roseanne Savage (Bruce), and Tammy Dolbeck (Rob).
She is predeceased by her loving husband James Saini, her parents Leonard and Jeanne Lafrance, her adored daughter Tracy Saini, and her brothers Lionel (Leo) Lafrance, Robert (Bob) Lafrance, and Daniel (Danny) Lafrance.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Cemetery, North Bay, Ontario.
“Little did we know that morning that God was going to call your name.
In life we loved you dearly, in death we love you still.
It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone,
For part of us went with you the day God called you home.
Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same,
But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.”
