Obituary

Marcel Patrick Reimer, age 57, of Blumenort, MB., passed away after his battle with cancer surrounded by family on September 24, 2025 at Health Sciences Center, Winnipeg, MB.

He is survived by his dear mom, Edna Reimer, brothers Stan, Anthony and Susan and sister Audrey and Bruno Kampen and nieces and nephews, Andrew and Tess Kampen, Luke Reimer, and Sabina Anwar Rahi, Ebony and Davis Loewen and family, Matthew and Jodi Reimer, Paul Reimer, Robyn and Caleb Buhler and family, Oliver Kampen.

He was predeceased by his dad, Frank Reimer.

Marcel was born in May of 1968, as the third child of Frank and Edna Reimer joining older brother and sister, Anthony and Audrey. A couple of years later, brother Stan joined the family. As kids, hours were spent playing games such as Monopoly and Stock Ticker or playing football, hockey or baseball outside.

Marc attended church and Sunday School as a child where he gained an understanding of his need for Jesus. The day Anthony was baptized, Marc realized that was what he also wanted so as a teenager he followed through with baptism upon his confession of faith. A few weeks before Marc passed away, he again confirmed his belief that Jesus had died for his sins and stated his confidence that he would be going to heaven when he died.

As the two single brothers in the family, Marc and Stan developed a very close bond. Marc most often took the lead in their activities whether it was a round of golf at La Broquerie, a road trip into the states for a weekend, or an excursion to Crowduck Lake for a day of fishing. Marc and Stan enjoyed each other’s company and had a unique love language between them which included a lot of teasing and snide remarks.

Marc had a laid-back character and was not easily phased by the various challenges that faced him in life. Sixteen months ago, he was diagnosed with cancer. It was not an easy journey with surgery and treatment, appointments and medical complications, but he accepted that if this was the path his life was on, he would walk it. He walked it with quiet strength and resolve without complaining or questioning. It was a privilege to walk it with you, Marc. We love you!

The funeral service will be held on Monday, September 29, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB., with viewing prior to the service.

Interment to follow at Blumenort Community Church Cemetery, Blumenort, MB.
