Mary passed away and went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at Rest Haven Care Home, Steinbach, MB., at the age of 99.
She will be lovingly remembered by her nine children and their families; Norman (Louise), Wilma (Grant) Greechan, Virna Champagne, Ernie (Leslie), Len (Debbie), Floyd (Louise), Neil (Sherry), Art, Lola (Fred) Bilsky; 30 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great grandchildren and their families; brothers Dave Martens and Ben (Debbie) Buhler and their families.
Mary was predeceased by her husband Cornelius; two sons-in-law Paul Bell and Ernie Champagne; one grandson Tyler Broesky; her parents Cornelius & Sarah (Redekopp) Martens; her siblings: Mary, Annie (Henry) Schultz, Sarah (John) Buhler, Tena (Abe) Kasper, Cornelius, Agnes (Jake) Goertzen, Margaret (Ed) Broesky, John (Sarah) Buhler, Henry (Mary) Buhler, Joe (Bertha) Buhler, her sister-in-law Lena Martens as well as by all of her husband’s siblings and their spouses.
Mary was born on January 18, 1926 in Aberdeen, SK. She married Cornelius Broesky in 1947 and they settled in La Broquerie, MB., where she lived till his passing in 2010.
She was caring and compassionate and loved the Lord and her family; her greatest joy was to be surrounded by her loved ones and serve them food, if she could. Her many hobbies and interests included cooking and baking, gardening and canning, berry picking, sewing and quilting.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB., with Viewing one hour prior to the service.
