Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Herman Penner of Steinbach, MB, announces his peaceful passing on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on April 12, 1947 in Foam Lake, Saskatchewan, to Peter and Lydia Penner, Herman was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, brother, and uncle.

Herman was a hard working provider who was also passionate about helping those in need. He spent many years as a mechanic but was the epitome of a “Jack of all trades”. He loved spending time with his family and also giving many, many hours ministering to the homeless. He will be missed by countless friends and family.

Herman is survived by his wife of 59 years, Eva; Brad & Lynne Penner, Cyndi & Derrell Goertzen, Teresa & Ben Kauenhofen, and Marty & Hannah Penner. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, as well as two brothers and three sisters.

He was predeceased by his parents, one brother, one son-in-law, and one great-grandchild.

The celebration of Herman’s life will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB.
