Obituary

John William “Jack” Mills, age 79, of Sprague Manitoba, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, September 26,2025.

Born in Roseau Minnesota and raised in Sprague. Jack lived a full and meaningful life surrounded by family ,friends, and the great outdoors he loved so much. Over the years he worked many jobs including , truck driving , bush work, carpentry, mining, Hudson Mill, Moose Lake Provincial park along with many others. No matter what the work was, Jack was known for a strong work ethic and his ability to lend a hand wherever it was needed.

He loved the outdoors – especially deer hunting, which was his favorite- as well as riding his 4-wheeler. reading a good western book, repairing or building anything. Jack loved being with his family and friends, sharing laughter a good drink and stories.

Jack was predeceased by his beloved wife, Linda, his parents, his brother Ed and sister Ruby. He is survived by his children Amanda (Adam) Shannon (Nathan) Jonathan (Angie), and Zach (Lisa) his grandchildren Jonathan (LaDawn) Mitchell (Jess) Matthew (Maggie) Connor and Nolan, and his great-grandchildren Dieter, Yannick, Clifford and Amelia. He will also be dearly missed by his sister, Marie and his nieces and nephews.

Jack’s legacy and stories will live on through his family and friends.
