It is with heavy hearts, after a courageous 10 year battle with cancer, we announce the passing of our wife, Mom, Memere, sister, sister-in-law and friend Yolande Trudel.
Yolande leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved husband Ray Trudel of 58 years, her children, daughter, Charmaine (Roger) and son, Kevin (Amber) along with her grandchildren, Cody (Janique), Carissa (Dave), Bailey and Sophie, great-grandchildren, Cameron, Colson, Quinn and Baby (boy) due in January 2026.
She also leaves behind her siblings Madeleine, Celine, Gilberte, Julien (Diana), Maurice (Ursula), Jacques (Claudette), Richard (Val), Alain (Carmelle) as well as numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Josephat and Jeanne D’Arc (nee Gosselin) Remillard, her brothers Ben, Barney and sister Lucy.
Mom was born and raised in St. Malo, MB., where she met and married her love, Ray, in May 1967. They moved to Winnipeg to work and raise their family.
She was loving, giving, supportive, an extremely hard worker, organized, strong willed and creative. When she had something in her head, it got done. She operated her own hair salon, worked at Schneiders, and co owned hotels with her husband and son until they retired in 2002. They spent 10 years as snowbirds in Texas. They enjoyed the hot weather, riding their motorcycle, flea markets , dancing happy hours and family time. After Dad’s cancer diagnosis, they followed their grandchildren in hockey, baseball and water-sports. Also, spending summers camping with the family was special.
You are missed and will be forever in our hearts. May you rest in peace.
Till we meet again.
Thank you to the doctors, nurses and support staff from De Salaberry Hospital and Southern Health, Palliative Care, CancerCare MB and those who supported Mom during her cancer journey.
A celebration of life in her memory will be held Friday, October 17, 2025 at 11:00 a.m., at Eglise St. Malo Parish, 147 Rue St. Malo Street, St. Malo, MB. Prayers, eulogy and power point presentation will begin at 10:30 a.m.
