Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Rose Marguerite Marie Carrière (Guilleminot) on October 8th, 2025, 20 days shy of her 90th birthday.

She is survived by her six children: Robert (Lynne), Diane (Larry), Roger (Gail), Denis (Rita), Anita (Claude) & Lynn (Gerald). Along with 18 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild on the way. Her two sisters Louise (Morris) Giroux, Fran King and in-law Jean Carrière, René (Delores) Carrière, Alice Courcelles & Gloria Wiens and many nieces & nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Louis Carrière (1997), her parents Maxime (1981) and Alma (Ross) (1981), her sister Rita (2014), and many in-laws.

Mom was born on October 28th, 1935, in Saint-Labre, Manitoba, but spent most of her youth in Saint-Boniface, Manitoba with her parents and three sisters. In 1954, her and dad married on the Carrière farm in La Broquerie, but raised their children in the city, except for spending 8 years in Vancouver, B.C. before returning to Winnipeg. Together, they moved to the town of La Broquerie to retire and continue to raise their children and eventually many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Beloved mother, mémère, grande-mémère, sister, and friend. She was the heart of our family. Living a long and healthy life, always full of energy, with a great sense of humour and a big heart. She loved spending her days doing puzzles & working in puzzle books, playing cards, watching game shows and getting outside to take walks. Mostly, she cherished her family and the time spent together, whether that was tagging along to go shopping or joining in on a day out, going out to eat, camping, sleepovers, attending birthday parties, sporting events or just having people over to visit. She was always present in our lives and will be greatly missed.

The Celebration of Rose’s life will be held at a later date for her immediate family.

The family would like to thank the staff at Concordia Hospital in Winnipeg as well as the staff at Birchwood Funeral Chapel in Steinbach for their care and kindness.
