Obituary

On Friday, October 17, 2025, Ernie (Ernest) Peter Block, age 67, passed away at Bethesda Regional Health Centre, Steinbach, Manitoba.

Deeply mourning his loss is his wife Marjorie, daughters Jaclyn (Matthew Block), Kelli (Matthew Wiebe), along with dearly loved grandchildren Ryder, Trigg, Emma & Bristol. Also mourning his loss is his bonus daughter Alex, his sister Lorna, brother David and sister-in-law Bertha (Carl Dueck), nieces Ruth (Dylan Konrad), Jessica (Clay Penner), Ellie, Everly & Adler. Two chosen brothers Jim Thiessen and Bert Falk will deeply miss him.

Ernie was raised in Steinbach and was trained at a young age to be an expert finish carpenter. He owned and operated Block’s Woodwork & Stairs for over 40 years and took great pride in his work.

His passion was everything outdoors. Fishing, camping & hunting were always a part of his life, especially with his girls and grandchildren.

The memorial service will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB.

As per his wish, cremation has taken place. Ash interment at a later date.
