Roman “Roy” Fenniuk, age 92, born January 18, 1933, of Winnipeg, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 24, 2025, at Middlechurch Home in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Roy is survived by his daughter Sheila and her husband Thomas Scott, grandson Michael Scott (Mina Zarabian), granddaughter Sarah Scott (Francis Casalla), brother Eugene Feniuk, sisters Joannie Levesque, Mary Anne (Arnold) Freund, Nicky (Ray) Peters, Donna (Keith) Penner, Sandra (Wayne) Kehler, sisters-in-law Myrtle Feniuk, Nancy Feniuk as well as many nieces and nephews.
Roy was predeceased by his parents John and Mary Feniuk, brothers Laurence, Donald, sister Lily, brothers-in-law Aurel Levesque and Joe Kardash.
Roy enjoyed challenging his brain. He always completed and sent in the jumble puzzle in the Winnipeg Free Press and loved working with numbers. On Saturdays he enjoyed listening to the “Ukrainian Polka Party” or holding a little jam session with him playing guitar and his daughter Sheila on the accordion. He was a fan of most sports, whether watching or participating. These included bowling, curling, golfing, horse-shoe tournaments, hockey, baseball and football. He would never turn down a game of cards or crib.
A private family funeral has been planned with the Very Reverend Archpriest Eugene Maximiuk officiating.
Interment to follow at Saints Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery (no. 12 Highway).
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Roy may be made to Ukrainian Orthodox Church of St Peter and Paul, Sarto -Cemetery Fund Box 79, Sarto, MB R0A 1X0.
