Hector George Piette

Obituary

Unexpectedly, yet peacefully on October 29, 2025, Hector Piette, aged 85, passed away at home at the Chalet Malouin, in St. Malo, Manitoba.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife for 63 years, Monique, his son Daniel (Kim), his son Rossel (Julie), and two grandsons Aaron and Alex, as well as numerous family and extended family members.

Hector was born and raised in Cornwall, Ontario. He moved to St. Malo in 1960, where he met and married Monique (nee Peloquin).

He loved St. Malo, especially fishing at the spillway – his happy place. Hector was a quiet man, more comfortable in nature, watching and feeding the birds, stray dogs and cats. Hector was a generous person, always willing and eager to help those in need.

Hector was an accomplished guitarist and a carpenter by trade, building houses, building his own stone house from scratch, while working for the Cornwall School District.

A private family service will be held at a future date. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff of the Chalet Malouin and home caregivers for their kind and compassionate care.
