Ernest (Ernie) Horobetz

Obituary

Ernie was born November 3, 1930, in Yorkton, Saskatchewan, to Nick and Anne Horobetz. He passed peacefully on November 19, 2025, at Grace Hospital, Winnipeg, Manitoba.

He is predeceased by his parents Nick & Anne, his two brothers Rudy and Carl and his four sisters Helen, Florence, Rita and Charlotte.

He left to morn his wife Adele, his children Kelly (Nancy) grandchildren Andrew (Samantha) and Roger (Laura), his son Donald (Lisa) and their two fur babies Buddy and Archie, His daughter Gloria (John) grandchildren Haley (Dwayne) Nickolas and great-grandchildren Emersyn and Briar. Also left to mourn, his brother Russel (Dolores).

Ernie worked for Cargill for forty-seven years. Starting out building grain elevators, he later became a millwright. Ernie retired in 1990. He enjoyed his retirement curling, bowling and spending time with his family.

The memorial service will be held on Monday, November 24, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., at Saint Basil’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 202 Harcourt St, Winnipeg, MB.
