Obituary

George Kornelsen, age 69, of Winnipeg, Manitoba, passed away on Friday, November 21, 2025, at Grace Hospital, Winnipeg, MB.

George was born in Mexico on December 27, 1955, and passed away November 21, 2025.

When he was 2 years old, he moved to Belize with his parents and two brothers. That is where he got his primary education. He upgraded his education when he was in his 20s when he lived in Winnipeg.

He always enjoyed reading which helped him a lot to further his education. In his spare time he loved colouring.

He worked in various jobs over the years, the most recent one a grader operator.

He moved back to Canada in December 2011 where he resided till his passing. He was in good health most of his life.

He will be dearly missed by his three daughters Emelita & Helber Yacab, Nicole & Everton Muir, and Stacey Hynes and their families. Siblings John & Tina Kornelson, David & Esther Kornelsen, Henry & Lorna Kornelsen, Agnes Guenther, Benny & Lisa Kornelsen, Anna & Jacob Neufeld, Mary Penner, Betty & Ben Dueck as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents Henry and Mary Kornelson and some siblings in infancy.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB.

We want to thank George’s friends Yvonne, Caroline and Sheila for being there for him when we couldn’t, may God bless you for all you have done for him.
