Ann Harder, age 65, of Steinbach, Manitoba, passed away on June 4, 2026, at Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach following a sudden medical emergency and a brief hospital stay.
Ann was born on June 30, 1960, in Paratodo, Paraguay, to Gerhard and Maria Harder.
She is survived by her ten siblings; John, Agatha (Henry), Peter (Hilda), Mika (Jake), Dick (Martha), Tina(George), Henry (Helena), Helen (Willy), Haley, Rudi (Kristin); and many nieces and nephews.
Ann was predeceased by her parents, a sister and a brother in infancy, brother Abe, nephews Helmut Harder, Joshua Harder, Andy Harder, Jerry Harder, and Garry Friesen, great-nephew Romulos Wiebe, brothers-in-law John Friesen and Dick Wiebe and sister-in-law Anna Harder.
Ann spent her life encouraging others and cherishing her loved ones. She was known for her deep love for family and friends, but above all, for her love of the Lord. She was a shining light to all who knew her and was often a source of comfort to those in need.
She loved crocheting and had a special affection for her nieces and nephews. Ann found great joy in giving to others and was known for her jovial, friendly, and caring nature. She possessed a remarkably forgiving heart. One of her recent sentiments was, “I want to be at peace with everyone.”
Ann was also known for her visits to residents at Niverville Personal Care Home and Rest Haven Care Home. She often served as a compassionate advocate for residents and their families, sometimes becoming their eyes and ears when needed. She was known to gently guide residents who were lost and had a special gift for bringing people together. Whether inviting others to activities, Bible studies, or simply offering companionship, Ann made everyone feel welcome, valued, and included.
Ann will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her kindness, faith, and caring spirit leave a lasting legacy in the hearts of many.
The celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 10:30 a.m., at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB.
