Obituary

Peacefully, with his family by his side, Reg Reimer, 80, of Steinbach, passed away on Friday, October 23, 2026, at Bethesda Regional Health Centre.

Reg was the middle child of Abe D. and Margaret Reimer. He was predeceased by his parents, his brothers Dennis, Robert, Lewis and David and his sister, Carol.

With as many brothers as he had, they organized their own baseball team. They played together for many years. They played in many tournaments, including weekend tournaments in Grand Forks. These were great family times.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 56 years, Luella; his sons, Jeff (Kerry) and Russ (Mallery), and their families; and his brothers, Gary (Karen) and Ron (Dianne), and their families.

Reg was involved in the family business, Reimer Farm Supplies Ltd., from an early age. When school was no longer the right fit, his dad found him a job in the logging industry, which lasted a few weeks. He then returned to the family business, starting by sweeping floors.

Reg took great pride in doing business the right way. At Reimer Farm Supplies, the family’s John Deere dealership, integrity was at the heart of everything they did. Reg and his family were known for their honesty, fairness, and willingness to go the extra mile for the farmers and people they served. Reg made many lasting friends through his many years, at the dealership.

In December 1969, Reg met Luella, and they were married in June 1970.

Mom was the love of Dad’s life, and that was visible in every way. Their sons were raised in a loving, Godly home and were given the example of how to live in love and in Christ. When Dad became a grandfather, and then a great-grandfather, each additional grandchild brought him great joy. He watched them all with pride.

Reg loved to travel and had a great sense of adventure. He explored the back alleys and lesser-known areas wherever he went, which caused more than a few “anxious moments” – especially when he narrowly missed a cruise ship.

Reg’s hobbies were photography and golf with his “buddies”. Many games were discussed in the evenings, after golf, with lots of laughter. He held the members of his golf group close to his heart.

My husband, our dad, was a man of great faith who looked to God for direction in business, family and all other areas of his life. He was generous and a great philanthropist, contributing both through service and giving.

You will be greatly missed. See you on the other side.
