Obituary

Tesla. The Jets. His girls. And Jesus. Everyone who knows Marlowe knows that his love ran deep and intense.

Marlowe Abram Dewayne Brandt was 38 when the second fight of his life began, after already beating cancer once when he was a child. But Marlowe did not take cancer lying down. To fight is to command, manage, or maneuver in battle. And if there is anything Marlowe did, he fought. He fought with weights and training his physical body, enjoying the gym and push ups, and he fought by pulling close to Jesus and training his heart and soul. He fought to make memories with the girls he loved the most, and he fought to love people in the same way he always had.

Marlowe could always use some good pineapple, even right up until the very end, trying to order only pineapple for breakfast instead of a fruit cup. If you turned on Marlowe’s music playlist, you’d typically find either David Crowder or NF. Hockey and magic tricks were also on his favorites list, while he was good at one, but not quite the other. He is considered to be quite the ‘sexy skater’.

The one thing about him that stood out the most was his laughter and sense of humour. He never missed an opportunity for a well-timed joke or to entertain us with his eye-rolling comedy.

Marlowe will be missed immensely, but there is great hope in knowing that he is healthy, strong and joy-filled in heaven with his best friend, Jesus and his dad, Arnold.

Well loved, and well missed, he is survived by his wife Meg and daughter Darielle.

He also leaves behind his mom Gertie; sisters Jen (Les), Josie (Ralph), and Heidi (Cam); brothers Darcen (Feleana) and Quincy (Erin) and Meg’s family, Cindy and Butch, Terry and Kim; and Leia (Tim). Along with many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He will be remembered by all.
