Funeral service was held Monday, June 1 at 11 a.m. at the Winkler M.B. Church with Rev. Abe Reimer and Rev. Bernie Thiessen officiating. Interment will follow at the Grunthal Cemetery at 3 p.m.

The family wish to thank the doctors, nurses and staff on the 1st floor of Bethel Hospital, and also at the St. Boniface Hospital Oncology Department, whose tender care and understanding was greatly appreciated. A very special thank you to all the family members who spent some special nights with Mom. To all the friends and relatives for all the visits, prayers and support they gave us all. For all the songs and music that Mom so loved, for the bedtime prayer and scripture that Rev. Bernie Thiessen shared with Mom every night. To Rev. Abe Reimer for the frequent sharing of prayer and scripture, both at home and in the hospital. And most of all we thank God for giving us all strength, and for carrying us through our troubled times.

God saw you getting tired when a cure was not to be,
So He closed His arms around you, and whispered ‘come to me’.

You didn’t deserve what you went through, so He gave you rest,
God’s garden must be beautiful, He only takes the best.

And when we saw you sleeping, so peaceful and free from pain,
We could not wish you back to suffer that again.

We love you Mom, “Rest in Peace.”
