Obituary

Jean Chubey (nee Burkowski), age 81, of Roseau River, MB passed away following a lengthy illness on Sunday, July 1, 2018 at the Vita and District Health Centre, Vita, MB.

She is survived by her son Jeff (Ashley), sister Eileen Pott and two granddaughters Hailey and Hannah.

She was predeceased by her husband Nick and brother Walter Burkowski.

Early in life, Jean worked making candies at Paulin Chambers and later made batteries for Ray-O-Vac.

She enjoyed working in the garden, taking care of her yard and planting flowers. The last few years of her life she enjoyed playing with her grandchildren.

Jean was a member of Shevchenko Hall in Rosa, St. Peter’s and Paul’s Orthodox Church and at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB.

Prayers will be held on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, July 6, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, with viewing prior to the service. The interment will take place at St. Peter’s and Paul’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church Cemetery, Rosa, MB and a lunch will follow at Shevchenko Hall, Rosa, MB.
