Obituary

Johnny’s brave battle with cancer is now finished, showing us that with hope nothing can take a piece of your soul. Sadly, on Saturday, July 28, 2018, with his family by his side, Johnny took his last, peaceful breaths.

He leaves to mourn: his daughter Sharlyn Henley (Sean), grandchildren Brooks, and Amilia; and his son Luke Saurette; sisters Yvette Bruneau, Linda Saurette, Simone Penner (Allan); brothers Maurice Saurette (Jacqueline), Lionel Saurette (Nicole); sister-in-law Suzanne Saurette, and many nieces and nephews.

Waiting in heaven for Johnny with open arms is his daughter Tara, his parents Georges and Rosalie Saurette, and his brother Paul.

Johnny was born and raised in Aubigny, MB. Johnny spent the first years of his life working road construction and farming. Before retirement, he spent his days working the maternal ancestral farm in Aubigny. Throughout his life, Johnny loved hunting, fishing, boating, hockey, and curling.

We will miss his stories, his smiles, and his unspoken love.

Goodbye, our friend. We’re going to miss you.

Thanks to CancerCare Steinbach and the De Salaberry District Health Centre (St. Pierre-Jolys) for taking such exceptional care of Johnny.

Johnny’s celebration of life will be held on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Birchwood Funeral Home, 162 Hwy 52 W, Steinbach, MB. R5G 1M1.
