Katharina “Kathy” Wall, born November 12, 1938, in Cuauhtemoc, Mexico, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2026, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, faith, and devotion to family.
Kathy was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, and faithful member of her church community. She was predeceased by her husband, Isaak Wall, and is lovingly remembered by her children Jacob; Isaak and Jane; John and Edweena; Peter; Paulina and John. She also leaves behind a cherished family of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, including Jennifer and Kevin and their daughter Lizzie; Joshua; Randal and Amanda and their children Korbin and Ava; Amanda and Michael and their daughters Lily, Evelyn, and Charlotte; Copeland; Isla; Tazey and Arham; and Nathan. Her family was the center of her life, and she poured her heart into caring for them with patience, warmth, and unwavering love.
Kathy’s life was marked by hard work and quiet dedication. In addition to raising her five children, she worked at the Red River Valley Lodge, first in the kitchen and later in the laundry. She approached every task with responsibility and grace, and those who knew her appreciated her dependable nature and gentle spirit. Her work was a reflection of the same care she gave to her home and family, and she made a lasting impression on the people around her through her steady presence and kind heart.
A woman of deep faith, Kathy was very involved in her church and found strength and comfort in her beliefs throughout her life. Her faith guided the way she lived, the way she loved, and the way she served others. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, and she treasured the simple moments that brought people together. Whether she was cooking for those she loved, tending to her garden, or sharing conversation with friends, Kathy found joy in the everyday blessings of life.
Cooking for her family was one of Kathy’s greatest joys, and many will remember her for the love she expressed through the meals and desserts she prepared. Her garden was another place where her care and patience were evident, as she nurtured it with the same devotion she gave to her family. These interests were more than pastimes, as they were expressions of who she was. She created a home filled with comfort, welcome, and love, and those who entered it felt the warmth of her presence.
Kathy will be remembered as a kind and generous woman whose life touched many. Her family and friends will carry forward her memory with gratitude for the example she set. She lived with humility and strength, and she gave of herself freely to others. In her long and meaningful life, she showed that love is often found in the faithful, everyday acts of care that sustain a family and bless a community.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Lindenwood Manor who helped Kathy feel at home in Winnipeg where she moved in 2021 to be closer to her children and grandchildren. She was happy to let the staff now do the cooking and cleaning for her. As well to the staff in the Oak unit at Fred Douglas Lodge who cared for her for the last months or her life.
