Over 2,000 people are expected to attend Steinbach’s 11th annual Thanksgiving Food and Clothing Drive on October 14, 2016. The event will be held at Southland Church in Steinbach, Manitoba.

“Last year over 2,300 hundred people came from Steinbach and surrounding communities as well as from Winnipeg and as far away as The Pas,” says one of the organizers for the event, Grace Hiebert. “We gave away 33,000 lbs of food and 27,000 lbs of clothing, shoes, toys, bedding and household items and we hope to do the same or more this year. Our goal is to help people in need and to bless and love others as God loves us. We want the communities to know that we care deeply for them.”

Each person who attends the event will be supplied with large bags to fill with clothing for men, women and children of all ages and sizes including winter jackets and boots. Hiebert further explained, “Every family who wants a hamper will receive one and all of the clothing and food for the hampers are provided by donations from people from Southland Church. No one is turned away. This is for everyone.”

The Thanksgiving Food and Clothing Drive will take place this year on Friday, October 14, 2016, between 9am and 7pm at Southland Church on Highway 52 in Steinbach, Manitoba.
