View From the Legislature

This week marks the beginning of Red Tape Awareness Week and our government’s commitment to introduce new legislation next spring that would reduce the burden of regulatory requirements.

With the end of January in sight, winter is in full swing here in Manitoba. And while we are finally enjoying a bit of a break in the weather, several large snow dumps, high wind white outs, and -40 days with the wind-chill have been all too common.

This week was the official ground breaking for the Stone Bridge Wellness Centre, a brand new medical services building that will provide additional space for health-care providers to augment the services at the upcoming Bethesda Primary Care Centre.

One of the key priorities laid out in my ministerial mandate letter upon taking office, was the creation of a Wait Times Reduction Task Force.
