Vaccine Administration

To date, 33,361 doses of vaccine have been administered including 28,274 first doses and 5,087 second doses.

Appointments and Eligibility Criteria

Eligible Manitobans can continue to make immunization appointments next week at the super site in Thompson. For updated information about eligibility criteria, visit gov.mb.ca.

Disruptions in the supply of Pfizer vaccine may mean some immunization appointments will have to be rescheduled. The appointments affected and length of the delay cannot be determined until the federal government confirms the amount of vaccine available for Manitoba. Manitobans should plan to attend their scheduled appointment unless notified otherwise. Additional information is expected on Friday, Jan. 29 and will be posted at manitoba.ca. If appointment changes are required, the province will try to connect with affected Manitobans by email or text messages.

Workforce

To date, 1,115 people have been hired to assist with Manitoba’s vaccination efforts at the sites in the Winnipeg, Prairie Mountain Health, Interlake-Eastern and Northern health regions.

This includes immunizers, clinic managers, clinical leads, system navigators and observers. This is in addition to 892 staff who have been assigned to COVID-19 immunization efforts from regional health authorities, bringing the total of new hires and existing staff to 2,007.

Vaccine Supply and Distribution

To date, a total of 55,650 doses of vaccine has been delivered to Manitoba. This includes:

  • 40,950 doses of Pfizer vaccine, based on six doses per vial; and
  • 14,700 doses of the Moderna vaccine.

A vaccine delivery is not expected this week. No new information has been provided to Manitoba about the shipments of the Pfizer vaccine during the week of Feb. 8 or in later weeks.

Vaccine Inventory

The lowest level of super-site inventory will not be known until more information about the next delivery of Pfizer vaccine is available.
