Recently, Bethesda Foundation was pleased to help out in creating a safer, more sanitary environment for the staff and residents at Bethesda Place, by funding new dining room furniture.

“The residents and staff at our personal care homes have experienced a particularly difficult year,” says Linda Peters, Executive Director for Bethesda Foundation. “We are pleased that in a small way, we could do something to improve safety and freshen up their dining spaces.”

Infection prevention and control measures have undergone some significant changes in the past year, especially in congregate living facilities. This resulted in a need for new dining room furniture at Bethesda Place. New Comfortek tables and chairs were recently put into operation at Bethesda Place, thanks to funding from Bethesda Foundation. All surfaces of all tables and chairs are now completely wipeable, and easily sanitized. They are also ergonomically friendly for both residents and staff. The new equipment will help make the days better for residents during such an incredibly difficult time in long term care.

“The cloverleaf-designed tables help us in meeting the Covid 6 feet/2 metre social distancing resident requirements,” said a staff spokesperson at Bethesda Place. “The tables adjust up and down, and outwards, which increases function for those that may be in a wheelchair at different heights. The variety of chair styles and sizes provides versatility for those that may require bariatric seating, or may need a chair on casters for easy and safe gliding.”

Bethesda Place staff offered a big thanks to the community and donors of Bethesda Foundation, for supporting resident care at Bethesda Place Personal Care Home.
