The current five-day COVID-19 test positivity rate is 4.8 per cent provincially and four per cent in Winnipeg. As of 9:30am on February 12, 2021, 81 new cases of the virus have been identified. The total number of lab-confirmed cases in Manitoba to 30,588.

Manitobans will be able to get outside and try their luck ice fishing at many of Manitoba’s world-class lakes and rivers during this year’s Winter Family Fishing Weekend, running from Saturday, Feb. 13, to Monday, Feb. 15.

The Manitoba government has agreed to purchase two million doses of a new, Canadian-researched and Manitoba-produced mRNA COVID-19 vaccine currently undergoing clinical trials to ensure Manitobans and Canadians have access to a secure supply of a promising new vaccine to protect them against current and future variants of the virus.

In order to build capacity and prepare for an unprecedented immunization campaign, the province has once again expanded the professions that will be able to protect Manitobans by administering the COVID-19 vaccine, Health and Seniors Care Minister Heather Stefanson announced. 

To date, 50,554 doses of vaccine have been administered including 33,930 first doses and 16,624 second doses. As of today, Manitoba remains second in the country in the number of people who have received two doses of vaccine and are fully protected against COVID-19, at 1,126 per 100,000.

The current five-day COVID-19 test positivity rate is 5.2 per cent provincially and 4.1 per cent in Winnipeg. As of 9:30am on February 10, 2021, 59 new cases of the virus have been identified. However, two cases have been removed due to a data correction. This brings the net-new number of cases today to 57 and the total number of lab-confirmed cases in Manitoba to 30,417.

With provincial lakes and waterways populated by outdoor enthusiasts this winter, Manitoba RCMP are reminding the public that consuming alcohol or cannabis while on the ice is illegal.

A total of 99 warnings and 39 tickets were issued for the week of Feb. 1 to 7 including 31 $1,296 tickets to individuals for various offences, six $298 tickets to individuals for failure to wear a mask in indoor public places, one $5,000 ticket to a business and one $1,750 ticket to an individual for the Federal Quarantine Act.

However, four cases have been removed due to a data correction. This brings the net-new number of cases today to 71 and the total number of lab-confirmed cases in Manitoba to 30,360.
