On August 29, 2011, at about 6:15pm, Powerview RCMP Detachment, local area EMS and Fire Department were dispatched to a house fire on Louis Riel Drive in the RM of Alexander.

On August 29, 2011, at about 5:30am, Berens River RCMP members were called and advised that the community Northern Store was on fire as well as the local Adult Education Building.

Manitoba Conservation advises, due to accumulated rainfall, forecast rain, the time of year and higher evening humidity, the ban on campfires has been relaxed in some areas of eastern Manitoba.

On August 23, 2011, shortly after 4:30pm, Blue Hills RCMP members along with the Shilo Fire and Ambulance Department responded to a large uncontrolled grass fire burning in the RM of Cornwallis.

A vehicle which rolled over and caught on fire yesterday morning in Grunthal, sent 3 youths to hospital.

Cross Lake RCMP are investigating several suspicious fires that have occurred between August 17 and 20, 2011.

On August 15, 2011, at approximately 2am, Blue Hills area RCMP and the Glenboro Fire department were dispatched to a house fire on Christie street in the village of Glenboro.

Manitoba Conservation advises that due to the extremely dry conditions and high forest-fire danger, the ban on fires, including campfires, has been extended to Birds Hill Provincial Park.

Due to the continued drying of the forests in eastern Manitoba, Manitoba Conservation is now implementing travel restrictions in eastern Manitoba.
