Obituary

On Monday, February 25, 2019, in the early morning hours, Jacob Dyck, age 61, of Grunthal, MB, passed away suddenly, surrounded by loved ones, at St. Boniface Hospital, Winnipeg, MB. We are heart broken that he left us so soon, but we take comfort in knowing that he had is no longer in pain and is home with Jesus.

Jacob is survived by his beloved wife Margaret of 40 years, and their children; daughter Susie, and son Jake and his wife Tinna, and four grandsons, Alex, Joridin, Jayden, and Carson. He is also survived by eight brothers: Isaac (Lisa), Franz (Helena), Johann (Anna), Gerhardt (Helena), Peter (Katharina), Martin (Susanna), Heinrich (Susanna), David (Helena) and two sisters, Susanna (Gerhardt Thiessen), and Anna (Johann Wiebe) and their families.

He was predeceased by his parents Isaac and Susanna Dyck and five children in infancy.

Jacob was born on March 18, 1957, in Neuvo Ideal, Durango, Mexico.

On July 29, 1978, he married the love of his life, Margaret Harder in La Batea, Mexico. Where they began to build a life together, which included their first born son Jake.

In 1988 they decided to move to Canada with many hopes for the future.

In that same year one of their hopes were fulfilled in the birth of their daughter Susie.

He was given the opportunity to work construction, which he worked at for 18 years until he was no longer able to do so due to medical reasons.

He was a loving Grandpa, Dad, Husband, and Friend and we will miss him dearly.

The Family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Thompson and the staff at the Emergency Department at St. Boniface Hospital as well as Dr. Hiebert and the Palliative Care staff for their compassionate care.

The funeral service will take place Monday, March 4, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB.

If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers donations can be made to Birchwood Funeral Chapel to help assist with funeral expenses.
