On Tuesday, May 7, 2019, Edward Stanley Lusky (age 73), our dearly cherished husband, father and Papa passed away suddenly at the Bethesda Regional Health Centre in Steinbach, MB.
He is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Diana (Elendiuk); his daughters Kimberly Stott and Kelly Lusky; his beloved grandsons, Caleb and Noah Stott; and his faithful companion, Hunter.
He was predeceased by his parents Edward & Mary and in-laws George & Josephine.
Ed was born November 24, 1945 in Winnipeg. He and Diana were married September 20, 1969. They welcomed their daughters, Kim and Kelly, in the late 70’s. They spent much time as a family outdoors, whether it was at the lake, boating, 4-wheeling or just taking a walk in the bush.
Some of Ed’s favourite hobbies were hunting and training his dogs and most especially being a fast-and-loud-car enthusiast. He often spent time perusing car lots and once came home, much to the surprise to Diana, with a Corvette Convertible.
He and Diana were in the restaurant business together for 25 years, owning Chicken Chef Family Restaurant in Steinbach and Niverville during that time. Their girls also worked in both restaurants making this truly a family affair.
Ed lived his life as a devoted family man to his girls and grandsons. He took great joy in “sharing” his life skills with his family and everyone that would listen. As Papa, he loved to go to the boys’ sports games and was their number one fan.
The memorial service will be held on Monday, May 13, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB. A private family interment to be held at Brookside Cemetery at a later date.
One of Ed’s biggest life loves, were his dogs. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ed be made to Steinbach and Area Animal Rescue Inc. 250 Stonebridge Crossing, Steinbach, MB R5G 2B2.
Diana and the girls would like to thank the paramedics, RCMP and the ER staff, especially Dr. Mokate, for their compassion in caring for Ed.
