Leonard Plett, passed away peacefully, in the very early moments of Monday, December 7th, 2020, at the Bethesda Regional Health Centre, Steinbach, MB., just a few days shy of his 87th birthday.
He is lovingly remembered by his current wife, Eva Schroeder; his children, Reg (Ann), Carolle, and Kim; his seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; his step-children, Elmer (Leni), Maryann (James), Frieda (Albert), and Ray (Karen) and their children and grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his first wife Esther Plett.
Leonard was born on December 10, 1933 in southern Manitoba and spent most of his life in Steinbach. He loved having adventures, from climbing mountains to a peaceful day fishing on the water. And he could always be counted on to be the first volunteer to knead the bread dough for how clean his fingernails were afterwards. He welcomed Jesus into his heart when he was a young man, and often spoke of the day he would be with his Lord. We have known him in a variety of roles – father, husband, uncle, cousin, son, grandpa, mentor, great friend and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A livestreamed private family service will be held on Friday, December 11, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB., with interment to follow at Heritage Cemetery.
