Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Jeff at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, MB., on Thursday, May 20, 2021.

Jeff will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Dixie, sons: Scot (Holly, Iris, Autumn), Jamie (Kelsey, Stella, Max) and Taylor. Also mourning his passing are sister, Lainie (David), brother Randy (Lucy), sister-in-law, Karen, and nieces and nephews – Mandy, Margo, William, Gordon, Anna, Adam, Ashley, and Katelyn.

He was predeceased by his parents, Gordon and Doris Percy, and brother Russell.

Jeff graduated from high school in Kenora and attended university for a short time. He then packed his bags and moved to the mountains where he skied during the day and washed dishes in restaurants at night. He had a long career in carpentry and excelled at doing drywall.

Jeff met Dixie in November 1999 and they were blessed to have 21-1/2 fun filled years together. They did a lot of travelling – to Nascar races in Kansas City, visiting friends in Homer, Alaska, attending the harmonica festival in Yellow Pine, Idaho, Las Vegas where they married in 2015, Cuba, Dominican Republic, and many road trips to Mexico, Calgary, Northwestern Ontario to visit friends and family. Many good friends were made in their journeys. In 2012, Jeff and Dixie purchased a small condo in La Penita de Jaltemba, Nayarit, Mexico and were fortunate to be able to spend many winters there.

Jeff was a kind, caring, compassionate man who loved to help others. His children and grandchildren were the lights of his life and he was so proud of them and their accomplishments.

In February 2020, Jeff was diagnosed with cancer and fought a hard battle with courage, dignity and remained positive throughout. The family thanks the Health Sciences Centre’s dedicated staff for all their efforts and compassion.

Due to Covid-19 limitations, a celebration of Jeff’s life will be held at a later date.

Jeff ~ You will never be forgotten and will live in our hearts forever. Until we meet again.
