Obituary
Jessie Reimer was born September 18, 1926, the youngest of 9 children, to John T. and Anna Fast Reimer. She peacefully passed away on August 15, 2021 at the Maplewood Manor in Steinbach MB. Her childhood years were spent with her family in the Clearsprings area. In her youth she felt the need of a Savior and was baptized into the Church of God in Christ Mennonite. In spite of her trials in life she was victorious and left us with a full assurance of salvation.
As an adult she pursued a nursing career becoming an LPN and working many an evening shift at Morris, St. Pierre and Steinbach hospitals. Mom loved preparing delicious meals and fed many people. She gladly prepared a noon meal for company and then went to work an 8 hour evening shift. She was known for her witty remarks and could keep her guests highly entertained.
On April 28, 1953, Yvonne Brenda joined her which began her own family circle. Jessie was a busy mother, juggling work, childcare, and in later years also caring for her aging mother. She found time to take Yvonne and several good friends to places like Duluth making many special memories.
On September 22, 1972, Yvonne married Dalton Penner which made her a mother in law and later a Grandma when Stefanie Rose appeared on the scene. Her granddaughter was one of her greatest joys in life.
Retirement freed her up but then she kept busy baby-sitting, crocheting, and countless other activities.
She leaves to mourn, daughter Yvonne and Dalton Penner, granddaughter Stefanie and Randy Toews, great grandsons Brady and Reagan, all of Steinbach MB and many special nieces and nephews.
She was pre-deceased by her parents, siblings, and several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Duerksen and the staff at Maplewood Manor for their care as well as all who have walked with us through this journey.
The funeral service will take place on Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of God in Christ Mennonite, Steinbach MB., followed by the interment at Heritage Cemetery.
