Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. Margaret (Marge) Klassen peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ February 16, 2018, hearing him pronounce “well done my good and faithful servant”.

Left behind to cherish her memory, husband Jack Klassen, daughter Twylla Verwymeren (Ron), daughter Deneen Klassen, grandchildern Kelly Jeske (Nathan), Brent Verwymeren (Melissa), Derek Verwymeren (Morgan), great grandchildren Paige Verwymeren, Grady Jeske, brother Jack Martens (Arlene), sisters Mary Martens, Claire Dione (Rolly) as well as many extended family and friends.

She is predeceased by her parents Jacob and Mary Martens, sister Kay Martens and brother George Martens.

Marge was born the third child to Jacob and Mary Martens in Margaret, Manitoba, moving to several communities within southern Manitoba before settling in Headingly in her teens. It was there Marge met the love of her life Jack, at the First Alliance Church and they were married June 7, 1958. When the girls arrived, she took great pride in being a stay at home mom, caring for her family. She was also very involved with Jack in Bible Camp Ministries, using her talents as a cook or anywhere else she could serve. Marge’s smile was contagious. Combined with the gift of hospitality, a meal and good conversation, no one was a stranger for long. Marge also found an opportunity to serve with Jack with Gospel for Asia and she so loved her travels to India, ministering to the people there.

Saying goodbye is always sad, but knowing Marge is in the Lords loving arms, no longer bound by the grip of Alzheimer’s brings much comfort to us. So this is not good bye, but rather till we meet again.

The funeral service will be held Friday, March 9, 2018 at 10:30 a.m., at the McDermot Baptist Church, 821 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, with interment at Blumenort EMC cemetery, Blumenort, MB.
