Reverend Leslie Joan Poulin, 61, passed peacefully on May 2, 2025, surrounded by loving family and friends. A beloved Pastor and mother, Leslie will always be remembered for her kindness and willingness to help those in trouble, even strangers.
Leslie was born on July 16, 1963, in Ottawa, Ontario to loving parents Dalton and Joan Poulin. She grew up with her sisters, Kelly Poulin and Carrie Poulin Nowlan, in Blackburn Hamlet as a devout family of the Lutheran Church. Leslie felt her calling as a child, greatly influenced by her Uncle Fred (Reverend F.W. Zinck) of Calgary, Alberta. She attended the University of Calgary for her B.F.A. and then the University of Saskatchewan for the Lutheran Seminary.
Leslie was ordained at her first call in 1992 in Weldon and Kinistino, Saskatchewan. Her subsequent calls were in Melfort, Brunkhild, Morris, The Urban, Rosenfeld.
Leslie is predeceased by her mother, Joan Poulin. She is survived by her father, Dalton Poulin, and her sisters, Kelly (Randy) and Carrie Poulin of Ottawa, Ontario. She is also survived by her daughters; Dara, Jilleen and Philana Bonk; and her nephew Tyler Nowlan, niece Kelsey.
There will be a viewing at the Morris Funeral Home on May 8, 2025 from 12:00pm to 7:00pm.
Funeral services will happen on May 9, 1:00pm at the Morris Multiplex, where refreshments will be provided afterwards, catered by the Morris BigWay.
