Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother Gail (nee Hornick) Yeryk. Peacefully, on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at the age of 90 years.

Gail is predeceased by her loving husband Steve, her daughter Joanne, her parents William and Yvonne, and her sister Marina.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children Joe (& Diane), Mike (& Monica), Dave, Mark (& Tracy), son-in-law Gary, brothers Gerald (& Shirley), Billy, sisters Jenny and Noella and her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Gail was born April 20, 1935, in Marchand, Manitoba. She was a schoolteacher in Carrick, Manitoba when she met her future husband, Steve. They married in 1955 and moved around as Steve worked on the railroad and finally settled in Rainy River, Ontario. Here is where they raised their five children and was very active in the Catholic Church with the CWL and the community.

Gail enjoyed gardening, baking, sewing and knitting.

Rest in Peace Gail, you are home with Steve and Joanne.

The funeral mass will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Christ our Saviour Catholic Parish, 365 Loewen Blvd, Steinbach, MB. Interment to follow at Marchand Cemetery, 14 Carol Lane, Marchard, MB.
