It is with deep sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Henri Marion on July 2, 2025, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, at the age of 82. He lived a life marked by love of family, hard work, and devotion to the less fortunate.
Henri was born on November 7, 1942 and grew up on the family farm, near Ste. Elizabeth. In 1961, he married the love of his life, Lorette Fontaine. They resided on his childhood homestead until they moved to Morris in 2022. Henri dedicated his life to the land. He was a hog and grain farmer. His entrepreneurial spirit drew him to venture into ag machinery sales and service, woodworking, and heating systems. Henri and Lorette were avid gardeners, donating their bounty to food banks and Siloam Mission. They also did missionary work in the Dominican Republic on two occasions. His life was a testament to his versatility and his commitment to offering the best of his abilities to others.
A devout Christian, Henri’s faith was the cornerstone of his life. He lived his beliefs through acts of kindness, providing palliative care and volunteering. Henri’s heart was always open to helping those in need and the less fortunate, and his actions spoke of his deep compassion and generosity of spirit. He was a beacon of light in his community, always ready to lend a hand or offer a word of encouragement.
The legacy Henri leaves behind is rich with love, dedication and memories. He is survived by his loving wife, Lorette, and their children Michelle (Pierre), Rick (Mary), Nicole (Donnie): grandchildren, Gabrielle (Martin), Alain, Julien, Lisa (Patrick), Rachelle (Tony), Joel, Riley (Hailey), Janelle (Brayden) and great-grandchildren: Adrien, Kaylee, Jayden, Adrianna, Zyler, Asher, Cohen, Myla, Hunter, Lennon, Declan, and Boden. Each of them carries a piece of Henri’s spirit, his wisdom, sense of humour and love of family.
Henri leaves to mourn his siblings, Evelyne (Andre), twin Denys (Heather), Louise, Jeannette, and Garry. He was pre-deceased by his parents, Andre Marion and Therese Beaudette, as well as numerous in-laws and one nephew.
The Marion family will forever cherish Henri’s memory, as will his friends and all those whose lives he touched. His gentle presence will be dearly missed, but the seeds of kindness he planted in the hearts of those he loved will continue to grow and flourish. Henri’s life was a beautiful reflection of his values, and he will be remembered with deep affection and immense gratitude for all that he was and all that he gave.
Henri, Dad, Pepère, Grand-père, Grandpa – nous t’aimons tellement et tu nous manque beaucoup. Repose en paix.
Our appreciation goes out to the two EMTs who caringly tended to Dad before his passing. Thank you to Corey Wall of the Morris Funeral Home for his kindness and compassion. A special thank you to Sheryl, for being there with us.
A livestreamed Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 25th at 2:00, at the Emmanuel Baptist Church, 220 Lucinda Street South, Morris, Manitoba. A private family interment will take place at the Morris Cemetery.
