Obituary

Barbara Ruth Beckman, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 17, 2025.

Barb was born in Altona on June 4, 1973 to Peter and Justina (Dueck) Braun, the second youngest of nine siblings. Shortly thereafter the family moved to Kleefeld and later to Grunthal.

Barb married Steve on June 18, 1995. They raised their two children, Zachary and Adayla, primarily in La Broquerie. Family was very important to Barb. She had a big heart and loved her children, grandsons, and extended family.

She was loved in return by those who knew her well. She was kind and thoughtful and welcomed all with open arms. She always put other people first even when it was to her own detriment. She changed the world around her by the people whose lives she touched.

Barb was predeceased by her parents Peter and Justina and her brother Patrick.

She leaves behind her husband Steve, daughter Adayla, son Zachary (JulieAnna), grandsons Arthur and Theodore, her siblings Rona (Ed) Buraczewski, Cameron, Sarah (Ralph) Hauptkorn, Jason, Timothy, Tanya (Dan) Friesen, Jeanne Braun, and their families.

She will also be missed by Steve’s family: parents Norman Sydney and Margaret Beckman, siblings Lisa (Ryan) Dute, Linda McClung and Sheldon (Christine) and his family.

Cremation has taken place.

Family and friends are invited to a come and go celebration of Barb’s life from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB.
