Obituary

Katherine Wall, aged 88, of Stuartburn, MB., passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 21, 2025, at the Vita PCH, Vita, MB.

She is survived by her two sons: Sam and Mike, and five daughters: Melvina (Gary), JoAnn (Brian), Christine (Rodney), Natalie (Luc), Carol (Jerome). She is also survived by twelve grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Katherine will be remembered by her sister Mary, and three brothers: Dick (Lynn), George (Linda), and Ben.

She was predeceased by her husband Isaac; son Archie; parents Katherine & Jacob Hildebrandt; four brothers: Ed, Abe, John, Jake; and two sisters, Agnes and Margaret.

She was a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, a grandmother, and a great grandmother. She didn’t just live, she lived out loud. Katherine cracked jokes, never taking things too seriously, and always found joy in the little things.

She had a deep and unwavering love for her family, especially her grandkids, whom she spoiled with homemade cookies and soups that she would drop off unexpectedly, and that somehow tasted better than anyone else’s.

One of her greatest joys was sewing, not just as a hobby, but as a way of giving. She stitched together blankets, memories, and warmth. Every piece she made was a quiet act of love, her thread tying us all a little closer together. Many of us have something she made; a quilt, a dress, a patch sewn with care, and those pieces now feel more precious than ever.

Katherine had a great love of sports. If her TV was on, it was tuned in to a Jays or Oilers game, and she made every effort to sit in the stands and cheer on her grandchildren.

She lived with flair, with laughter and with love and that’s how we’ll remember her: as someone who didn’t just grow old, but grew bold, someone who left this world with as much spirit as she lived in it.

Thank you for the love you gave, the fun you shared, and the strength you showed. We’ll miss your wit, your sass, and the way you made life a little brighter just by being in it.

Rest easy and sew the stars together until we see you again.

With all our love.

A come and go Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, August 10, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Vita Friendship Center, Vita, MB. If you can, wear something sparkly or velour in her honour.
