Obituary
With broken hearts but gratitude for an amazing life we announce the passing of an incredible man. A Husband, Father, Grandfather, Son, Brother, Uncle and a dependable friend…Jake Neufeld.
Our world was blessed with Jake’s presence for 60 years. He was born on January 3,1965 to Peter & Mary Neufeld at Colony Bergthal, Paraguay. Jake was baptized upon the confession of his faith on May 20, 1986.
Jake is survived by his loving wife Martha, whom he cherished for 39 years; their lives were blessed with Terry (Granddaughter Sophie), Jennifer (Steven), Zackary, Mathias and Raelyn. He is also survived by his Mother Mary Neufeld, his two brothers, three sisters, 10 brothers-in-law, nine sisters-in-law, numerous nieces, nephews and countless friends.
He was predeceased by his Father Peter Neufeld (April 8, 2016). His Mother-in-Law Margaret Kehler (January 18, 2013), his Father-In-Law Jacob Kehler (January 13, 1990), and his nephew Breaden Reimer (February 4, 2022).
Jake was a hardworking, honourable man, who taught us that the greatest life value was family. He spent many hours of his life doing what he loved (farming) and caring for his family with great pride. He impacted many hearts by his generosity, his hospitality and his positive “can do” attitude and love for his family.
Peacefully with family by his side, Jake went to be with his Lord and Saviour on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at Bethesda Regional Health Centre, Steinbach, MB.
Jake leaves behind an incredible legacy which we love and thank him for. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith”
The Neufeld family wishes to say thank-you to all the family & friends for the prayer support and expressions of sympathy they have received. They also want to express their deepest appreciation for the staff at Bethesda Regional Health Centre and CancerCare Manitoba for their excellent care in his final days.
Viewing will be Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at 7:00 p.m., with a devotional at 7:30 p.m., at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB.
The funeral will be held Thursday, December 11, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., at the New Bothwell Sommerfeld Church, New Bothwell, MB., with viewing prior to the service. Interment to follow at the church cemetery.
