Obituary
Our final goodbye to our loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend was on January 12, 2026 at the Bethesda Regional Health Centre.
He is survived by his dear wife of 57 years, Dorothy, their 3 children, Cindy (Jerry) Falk, Kevin (Tammi) Peters, Steven (Mary) Peters. Grandchildren Byron, Megan (Riley), Jared (Jasper), Brittany (Lucas), Andrew (Frankie), Zachary (Morgan), Dillon (Paitton), Kristina (Alec), Joshua (Shaylee), Melissa (Luke). Great grandchildren Jacob, Elianna, Wade, Raya, Sebastian, Nathan, Elizabeth, Brielle, Charlie, Jayda. 1 brother Alvin (Linda)and 1 sister Irene (Ernie).
He was predeceased by his parents John and Helena Peters, brothers John, Jake, Bill and Norman. In-laws Cornie and Jessie Klassen. Brother-in-law Harold.
George was born on January 10, 1950 at home on the farm in New Bothwell. June 29, 1968, he married the love of his life and started their family. Dad started his career of trucking at 23. His last 20 years was with Penner international before he retired. His passion aside from his job was always his family. After retiring mom and dad spent a lot of time travelling and camping with the family.
Mom and dad were both baptized in the fall of 2007 in the Mitchell CMC where he immediately began serving. He was always fond of his church and loved to be a part of his church family.
In the spring of 2024, our dad was diagnosed with dementia. The last 6 months were filled with constant requests for us to take him home but none of us were able to satisfy that request.
Now we rejoice with him, Jesus took him “HOME”.

A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday January 19, 2026, at the Mitchell Gospel Church, with viewing one hour prior to the service. Interment and reception will follow.
