Obituary

It is with sadness and joy that we announce the passing of Claire on March 12th, 2026, of Ste Anne, Manitoba.

Mom was battling a chronic disease and a surgical procedure with which she would not recover from. We are experiencing sadness because we will dearly miss her, and joy because she is with Jesus, her family, and friends who have gone to Heaven before her.

She was born at St Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Mom was raised on a farm in South Junction, Manitoba. She went to St Joseph’s Academy during her teen years and then transitioned to Nursing school at St-Boniface Hospital in her early 20’s. She began her career in Oshawa, Ontario, and with her husband Bill welcomed two children, Joanne and Billy, who were her greatest joys.

She moved back to Manitoba and shortly after, started her long and impactful career with Villa Youville in Ste Anne.

Mom was predeceased by her parents, Adelard and Stella Brisebois, her brother and sister-in-law Charles and Loraine Brisebois, her sister Elise Hotrum, her brother-in-law Hap Hazzard, niece Monique Brisebois, nephew Jayden Gatzke, grandson Zachary Jardine, and many friends and relatives on the Brisebois and Gagnon sides of the family.

She leaves to mourn her two children, Joanne Jardine (Mike Kelly) and Bill Hadley (Ginette), and siblings Robert (Pat) Brisebois and Alice Hazzard. She also leaves to mourn her grandchildren, Jessy (Brittney), Matthew (Cara), Rebecca (Travis) and Isabelle, as well as her great-grandchildren Mason, Scarlet, Lillie, Kayce, Connell, Kingston, Delilah, and Colt and many nieces and nephews who meant the world to her.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, March 23rd, 2026, at Crossings Funeral Care in Steinbach, MB with a reception to follow. All friends and family are welcome.

We would like to thank Dr. Champagne and the staff at Ste-Anne Medical Centre and Hospital, Dr. Dirks, her respirology specialist, and the staff at Bethesda Hospital Emergency Department, as well as the staff at Concordia Hospital for their compassionate care. Thanks to her health care aides who visited her home and treated her with dignity.

Thank you to all who have cared for our Mom and Mémère over the years.

She lived well, laughed often, and loved deeply.
