Anne was born on April 8, 1931, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She spent her childhood on a farm near Elm Creek, where she grew up alongside her two sisters and three brothers. Those early years on the farm remained close to her heart, filled with simple joys and strong family bonds. She was the daughter of Peter and Anna Kroeker.
Anne completed Grade 12 at Mennonite Brethren Collegiate Institute in Winnipeg.
She met Abe Enns at church in Elm Creek, and they were married on June 27, 1953. Together they built a life and raised their family in Winnipeg, Steinbach, and Lynn Lake, eventually returning to Steinbach to retire in 1997.
Anne had a gift for hospitality. She loved to welcome others into her home – whether friends, family, or strangers who quickly became both. The Enns household was often filled with laughter, stories, and the sound of people enjoying one another’s company.
Some of the most treasured times were spent at the family cabin at Berge Lake, where days were unhurried and centered around being together.
Left to cherish her memory are children: Beverly (Bryan) Rempel, Esther (Paul) McMillen, Douglas (Patti) Enns, Gerald (Lori) Enns, grandchildren Matthew Cleveland, Sarah (Kiyo) Cleveland, James (Alicia) Cleveland, Nathan McMillen, Scott (Ashley) McMillen, Ashley (Kyle) Penner, Joanne (Warren) Zarichanski, Caitlin (Jey) Black, Derrick (Nikki) Enns, Mackenzie Enns, Alexandra (Malcolm) Enns and great grandchildren Arianna, Xavier, Hannah, Zachary, Bohdi, Benjamin, Lincoln, Milo, Nikko, Ryker, Tommy, Taryn, Penny, Meila, Louise, Lemmy, Emerson, Revie, Stevie.
