Obituary

Donna – Rae Thrasher passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at the age of 61.

Born in North Bay, Ontario, Donna’s life journey took her through Meaford, Ontario, Steinbach, Manitoba, Niverville, Manitoba, and Winnipeg, Manitoba, where she built her life around family, faith, and caring for others.

Donna was a woman of deep faith who loved Jesus and found strength and comfort in her relationship with Him throughout her life. Her faith carried her through both joyful and difficult times, and it was especially evident in the courage she showed in her final years.

She dedicated much of her life to helping others. Donna worked as a support worker, where her compassion and patience made a meaningful difference in the lives of those she supported. She also worked in grocery stores in Niverville and Meaford, where her friendly nature and warm smile left a lasting impression on coworkers and customers alike. During her time at Kitchen Craft in Winnipeg, she continued to demonstrate her strong work ethic and kindness.

In 2021, Donna was diagnosed with COPD. Despite the challenges that came with her illness, she faced it with incredible strength and resilience, fighting hard each day with determination and grace.

Above all, Donna’s greatest joy in life was her family. She leaves behind her loving children, Jennifer Wiebe (Joseph Wiebe) and McKayla Parks (Teejay Parks), and her cherished grandchildren, Don and Rowan Wiebe, and Dawson, Emmet, Mavrik, and Fallon Parks. She loved her children and grandchildren deeply and unconditionally, and her presence in their lives was a source of comfort, encouragement, and unwavering love.

Donna is also survived by her mother, Anita; her siblings, Barry, Sue (Paul), and Jason (Sarah). She was predeceased by her father, Dean Thrasher.

Donna cared deeply about those around her and had a generous heart that touched many lives. She will be remembered for her kindness, her strength, her faith, and the love she gave so freely.

“You may be out of our sight, but you will never be out of our hearts. Your love is stitched into every part of who we are, and we will carry you with us in everything we do, until we meet again.”

“Well done, good and faithful servant.” ~ Matthew 25:23
