Rosaire was born on September 6, 1950, the twelfth in a family of thirteen. He grew up close to his siblings, relationships that he treasured throughout his life. On September 23, 1972, he married the love of his life, Jeanine, and together they raised three wonderful children, building their life in La Broquerie.
Family was everything to Rosaire. He was a devoted husband and father who worked hard to provide for his family. He was incredibly proud of his children and especially his grandchildren. Some of the sweetest memories will be of Pep spoiling his grandchildren by always having a supply of their favourite goodies.
Rosaire was a carpenter by trade who started as a private contractor and proudly spent the last 34 years of his career at St. Amand Centre in Winnipeg. He was meticulous in his work and very willing to share his time, knowledge, and skills on projects for other people. Other activities he enjoyed included travelling, golfing, canning, shopping, and most importantly smoking a cigar.
We will remember Rosaire as a kind, gentle soul who made many friends throughout his life. He had a certain “joie de vivre” about him and could easily strike up a conversation with anyone. His garage door was always open, a welcoming invitation to come in, share stories, and enjoy many laughs. His motto was “My garage, my tools, my rules.” You could borrow any of his tools but beware if you didn’t return them. Rosaire took great pride in his tools and was diligent about keeping his garage cleaned and organized.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the family members and friends who took the time to visit him during his hospital stay. The many visitors brought him much joy and reminded him just how loved he truly was. We would also like to extend our gratitude to the staff at CancerCare Steinbach and Bethesda Regional Health Centre Medical 2 Unit for their wonderful care, kindness, and compassion.
Rosaire leaves a lifetime of memories, countless stories, friendships, and a legacy of love. Rest peacefully, Chou, Dad, Pep. You will be forever loved, deeply missed, and never forgotten.
The Celebration of Life for Rosaire will take place on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB.
